Well I think I got quite carried away when I started on this painting. It occurred to me that I had intended to leave the hair unpainted - never mind, the application of a little alcohol with a toothbrush has taken it back. I may yet repaint the hair, but at least I can see at a later stage if that's what I want to do.
I think that's enough for the underpainting grisaille - I'll leave this to dry then start on the coloured layers.
